July Movies

 Ant-Man

Starring Paul Rudd as Ant-Man and featuring Michael Douglas, this movie pulls some punches.

Directed by Peyton Reed, Marvel has a line up of writer credits who have worked on the comic, story and screenplay. Using the story line of an outsider being used to become a superhero is a classic story of Marvel.

Marvel Cinematic Universe is doing some great work and Ant-man looks just as good.

 Fantastic Four

Directed by Josh Trank.

Fantastic Four is described by the studio 20th Century Fox on IMDb as;

FANTASTIC FOUR, a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel’s original and longest-running superhero team, centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy. Written by 20th Century Fox

Minions

Editors Pick; Minions is on the scene. Great movie and great fun.

The producers of Minions are an organised bunch. There is, of course, the movie. Then there is an app for the game Minion Paradise, merchandise is available in most stores and McDonald’s has a Happy Meal. The game is on Google play and Apple.

When it comes to children and you want to keep them occupied and think you are cool (even if you are not). This movie is a go to. Give them a game to play with, take them to a movie and feed them. Fantastic. Just nothing with caffeine for your sanity, stick with lemonade and you are rocking. School holidays here we come!

Mission: Impossible Rogue-Nation

The franchise is on the move with Tom Cruise at the head. Tom Cruise is a true movie star in this one. Looking great and carrying himself in a demanding role. It ticks the boxes for action and some fast car chases, where people drive fast. Awesome. This action movie includes appearances by Simon Pegg and Jeremy Renner.

It is directed by Christopher McQuarrie.

Terminator Genisys

Terminator is upon us. With a long break it is on the comeback. Featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger it is a visitation back to the original taking the audience to the beginning to 1984.  This could be the deal breaker where things change and a new series can move forward. Be careful watching trailers as this one has a lot of twists and spoilers would be annoying.

Directed by Alan Taylor.
