I grew up in Australia, a lover of AFL, Cricket and The Olympic Games. My father would take me along to the Norwood Oval (now Coopers Stadium). We would watch The Norwood Redlegs play in the SANFL. My grandparents living a few streets away from the oval.
My family in Australia has had a long history of playing sports. Including baseball, cricket, AFL, rowing, swimming, and cycling.
Due to a childhood injury, I was limited on what sports I could play. Later I had the opportunity to get involved in running. I enjoy keeping fit. Hence my Degree in Human Movement from the University of South Australia came about because of those interests.
In my early to late teens, I discovered my fondness for Science Fiction and Fantasy especially out of England both in reading and watching shows like Doctor Who and Red Dwarf.
As I became an adult, I discovered English authors like the late great Douglas Adams. I am pictured above, with one of the current day best Sci/Fi and Fantasy authors Robert Rankin. I am on the left and Robert Rankin is on the right. This was taken a few years ago at Armageddon.
Michelle was born in Adelaide, South Australia. At the tender age of 2 years, her parents moved to County Kildare in Ireland, where she spent her childhood and discovered the band U2.
During her childhood in Ireland, she was heavily influenced by fashion in Dublin, London, and Paris.
The route of Irish dance lessons and piano became part of life, as did regular trips to world famous art galleries. She appeared on the children’s television series Wanderly Wagon, produced by RTE at the age of 8. Her Grandmother seemed to take on the task of exposing her to afternoon tea in hotels that specifically only used sugar cubes and hand curled butter.
Michelle went on to do a diploma in Business after high school and working for the ABC TV in Melbourne, Victoria. The coming years were filled with studies in Jazz, BA’s in Creative Writing and Literature.
